Ingredients
2 lbs. Apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks (I like Pink Lady or Honey Crisp apples)
3-4 Chai Tea bags (the tea flavor will be stronger with more tea bags and a longer steep)
3/4 cup boiling water
splash of lemon juice (If you want less tang omit this)
A few handfuls of Pomegranate Arils

A few handfuls of Pomegranate Arils
Preparation
Steep Tea bags in boiling water for 15 minutes to 1/2 hour
Squeeze out additional flavor from bags and remove.
In a medium sauce pan add steeped tea, apples and lemon juice. Bring all to a boil, reduce to a simmer for about 1/2 hour, stir part way through.
Take apple sauce off stove and smash with a potato masher or put through a potato ricer.
Once cooled, gently stir in some Pom arils. Top your bowl of applesauce with additional arils.
Enjoy!

Note
This applesauce captures Fall seasonal flavors in a bowl of complete bliss!! The chai tea adds a unique twist and the Pom arils are like little gems. The "pop" of the arils are a nice contrast to the smooth sauce.
This applesauce accompanies my warm, eggy, sprouted wheat stuffed french toast (it is usually filled with a layer of peanut butter.) I love to dip bits of my eggy sandwich in this sauce for sweetness.
The best part is: this is a very healthy, no guilt, high energy breakfast. I look forward to it daily :)
