Our name and our 9,000 acres can both be traced back 100 years to a Porterville farmer named Mr. Bearss. He brought pomegranate cuttings to California from Florida. His variety was sweeter and juicier than others already growing in the region, so he aptly named it the Wonderful variety.
Pomegranate trees take about nine years to grow to full maturity and require careful cultivation. We supply the majority of the nation’s fresh pomegranates, meaning POM is one of the few pomegranate juices guaranteed to come exclusively from fruit grown in the U.S.A. Other pomegranate juice brands import their juice from regions, like Turkey and Iran, where food-processing practices can be far less stringent.
