- Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Express the citrus oils from an orange peel and discard. Garnish with a walnut.
*Pomegranate syrup:
- Add POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice and sugar into a small saucepan and bring to a simmer until sugar dissolves.
- Let cool. Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
**Toasted walnut-infused bourbon:
- Preheat the oven to 325°F degrees and lay the walnuts in a single layer on a sheet tray.
- Toast in the oven until fragrant and golden brown, about 8 to 10 minutes.
- Set them aside and let cool. Add the toasted walnuts and bourbon to a jar and let sit for 24 hours in a cool, dark place.
- Strain the bourbon through a damp coffee filter-lined sieve into a clean jar.
