The original superfruit, they’re easy to love and easy to open. The ruby-red arils make a tempting snack. They’re great in salads, yogurt and oatmeal—or on toast, instead of jelly. As a garnish, arils add pizzazz to any dish.

How to select:

Find a pomegranate that feels heavy for its size. The rind doesn’t have to be a perfect red to be filled with the most beautiful, juicy arils.

How to store:

Unopened pomegranates will last months in the fridge, or a month on the counter.
